Event Details

The library is hosting a Poetry Month reading and you are invited!  Join us in the Community Room on April 30 at 7:00pm and share your favorite poem.  By a favorite poem we mean a poem you love, maybe a poem you’ve read numerous times, a poem that means a lot to you. We are following the guidelines established by Robert Pinsky’s Favorite Poem Project, so we ask that you don’t read an original poem, or a poem by a family member. Rather, choose a poem from the great tradition of world poetry, a poem published in an anthology or published by an established publisher.

Critically acclaimed poet, David Graham, will be Master of Ceremonies.

Each reader will have about 5 minutes to introduce the poem, let us know why this poem is important to you, and to read the poem.

People wishing to read should email Dan Hubbs at: dhubbs1@sals.edu.The first fifteen responders will be guaranteed a five minute slot to read and to share why they chose the poem. Time permitting, additional people will have a chance to read.

All are welcome to attend and listen!
