Children in Kindergarten and up are invited to come practice reading skills with Beatrix, a certified therapy dog. Kids will choose a book and read to the dog one-on-one during a 15 minute time slot. Beatrix is a great listener!
Board Meeting
Join us for our weekly after school group for kids in grades 4-6, featuring various activities, games, and/or crafts chosen by the group. To be held in the Children's Activity Rooms or outside in the park if weather permits.
The theme for this session is Genre—a writing element that delves into audience, tones, moods and writing patterns. This workshop is geared toward helping patrons choose and identify their writing genre(s).
Paint and decorate a foamcore tombstone with us. We'll learn to recognize basic historical tombstone shapes and iconography, brainstorm some clever epitaphs, then make realistic or goofy tombstones to take home.
