Program Description

Event Details

This program is designed for kids grades 4-8 who are interested in exploring their creativity through both English language arts and visual arts. In this workshop, participants will engage in a variety of activities and projects that will challenge them to think creatively and develop their skills in writing, drawing, and other forms of expression. The program will be taught by the team of local educators Olivia Sutton and Greg Porter!

Olivia Sutton has been an educator for 22 years. She currently teaches 7th grade in the South Glens Falls School District. Prior to teaching 7th grade, Olivia taught AIS ELA, 9th grade English as well as 8th grade ELA. In addition to her teaching experience at the middle level, Olivia is also NYS certified in K-6 and has a master's degree in reading across content areas. Greg Porter is an art educator also in the South Glens Falls School District. Greg teaches grades 6-8 and has also taught at the elementary level at the same district. In addition to teaching general art courses, he also teaches and AI & Arts course as well as coaching Varsity hockey for the Queensbury School District. Greg has been teaching for 18 years. In addition to Olivia and Greg being educators, they are also brother and sister! Thanks to their mother, who was also an educator and day care provider, they find themselves devoted to the profession of educating and enriching students in our community.
