Johnny Campbell emerged onto the UK folk scene writing self-penned material and delving deep into Northern English folk song and story. The album From Hull & Halifax & Hell (2020) took him to The Faroe Islands to record live, earning him album of the week with Blues and Roots radio and stellar reviews with British folk press. Called ''a modern-day Billy Bragg'' (Tradfolk), Campbell’s passion and determination shines through in his music, with folking.com proclaiming, “the spirit of the folk clubs in their heyday runs in his veins.” A Right to Roam (2022), a collaboration with Commoners Choir and Skelmanthorpe Brass Band was called “one of the best folk song of 2022.” His newest album, True North, is a collection of traditional songs of Northern English, recorded on their respective county summits. Richard Thompson/UNCUT Magazine called it one of his albums of the year.  “Haunting, Evocative & Pure” -Songlines.

With local guest musician, Kristoffer Ross.
