Families with children birth to age 3 are invited to join us for stories, songs, fingerplays, and more. We'll be outdoors in City Park, so please dress for the weather and bring a blanket or towel to sit on.

Enter the time of the Revolutionary War! This program is based on the book Revolutionary War on Wednesday by Mary Pope Osborne. After you register, come to the children's reference desk to pick up your own copy of the book to keep.

In this two-part class, kids will learn to play the fun and easy lap dulcimer from award-winning musician, Dan Duggan (with an assist from the Folklife Center's Kevin Rogan and Miss Emma from the Children's Department).

Preschoolers can stretch, move, and relax in this fun and engaging Preschool Yoga session! Designed for ages 3-5, this class combines simple yoga poses, breathing exercises, and gentle music to encourage movement, mindfulness, and creativity.

Participants will journey through water cycle and explore watersheds.  Hands-on activities of a watershed model will show the sources and effects of water pollution.

Start an early love of reading with our baby story time!  Join us for stories, rhymes, songs, and play time.  Enjoy a special time with your baby and connect with other caregivers.

Tweens ages 8-13 will learn to play Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition over the course of six weeks.

Utilizing music from both Western and non-Western styles, Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers is an action-packed tale of bravery, smarts, and family ties.

Meet and greet author Jodie Fitz, who will also read from her new picture book, "Fidget Screams for Ice Cream!" and then lead the children in a fun activity related to the story.

Children in Kindergarten and up are invited to come practice reading skills with Beatrix, a certified therapy dog.  Kids will choose a book and read to the dog one-on-one during a 15 minute time slot.  Beatrix is a great listener! 

Kids in grades K-6 are invited to join us for our weekly free art program.  Enjoy a different open-ended art project each week featuring a variety of art styles and materials.  No sign up required.  

Learn photography from professional photographers and exhibit your photos in the Library's Folklife Gallery. Canon t6i digital cameras are provided for this free program. For kids in grades 5-7.

Goldfish Swim School invites families to this fun, interactive program focused on water safety and drowning prevention.

You’re invited to join us online with award-winning author Rex Ogle as he talks to viewers about his struggles to navigate sixth grade as written about in his book Free Lunch. 

Join us for our weekly after school group for kids in grades 4-6, featuring various activities, games, and/or crafts chosen by the group. To be held in the Children's Activity Rooms or outside in the park if weather permits.
